Pizza Today No. 1 ranked food trade magazine in the world

Pizza Today No. 1 ranked food trade magazine in the world

Trade Association and Business Publications International (TABPI) has released its first-ever “The Big 95” list, highlighting the 95 most acclaimed b2b / trade publications. Pizza Today placed in the Top 10 at No. 9 overall. Amongst food publications, Pizza Today was No. 1 in the world.
Last year, Pizza Today won a record eight Tabbie Awards and was one of the two most awarded magazines in 2015. Pizza Today has garnered more than 25 Tabbie Awards since the magazine first entered the competition.
The Big 95 list includes titles from United States, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and Canada.
Paul J. Heney, TABPI President, explained that the lineup reflects data from the first 12 years of the Tabbie Awards, TABPI’s annual editorial and design awards competition.
“Honoring excellent design and editorial work is what the Tabbies is all about,” said Heney. “But we felt that it was also important to recognize consistency. There are many publications that excel year after year, and The Big 95 honors those editors and art directors who have taken pride in what they do on a continual basis.”
Topping the inaugural list is Massachusetts-based Computerworld. Another Massachusetts publication, Network World, placed second and EXHIBITOR Magazine, based in Rochester, Minn., was third. The rest of the top 10 features NCAA ChampionModern HealthcareINSTORE,Pensions & InvestmentsProfessionally SpeakingPizza Today and Civil Engineering.

MOD PIZZA RAISES MORE GROWTH CAPITAL

Mod Pizza says a private-equity fund has invested another $32 million in the fast-casual pizza chain, which has raised $106 million to date for expansion.
The company has vowed to have 200 Mod pizzerias open by year’s end. About 110 units are currently in operation.
The latest round of funding was provided from a fund managed by Perella Weinberg Partners. PWP had invested $45 million a year ago in Mod’s growth.
The concept competes in the fast-growing fast-casual pizza market, where the frontrunners are trying to steal market share from established pizza makers such as Domino’s and Pizza Hut by promising better quality and more customization.
